Aquifer Yield and Groundwater Basin Recharge Numerical Modeling - Elsinore Basin Water Management Plan, Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District
Elsinore, California
HSW teamed with the groundwater resources group of MWH to perform aquifer yield and groundwater basin recharge modeling of aquifers proximal to Lake Elsinore in Elsinore, California. The 25 square mile model domain included several large-scale fractures and minimal groundwater base flow. Simulations included a ten-year calibration run, and proposed alternative scenarios involving the use of recharge basins and recharge injection wells. Simulation results were integral to generation of the Elsinore Basin Groundwater Management Plan which included recommendations to ensure water demand for a continually increasing population.
